Hello, my name is Thea Candeias, pronounced 'Tay-ah Can-dei-es'.
My current passion project is my YouTube Channel, Lil Branches Crossing, where I post videos and host live streams playing Animal Crossing New Horizons, the channel now has over 13,000 subscribers.
I worked at Fluid Media Inc in Hamilton, Ontario as a web designer from 2011 - 2020. In March of 2020 Fluid's owner started a new company called 'Virtual Event Solutions' working with companies to create virtual events for a variety of clients and I started working as the lead Project Manager. Throughout 2020 we hired many more project managers and there was a need for an Operations Director so I took on the role from January 2021 to July 2021.
I graduated from Sheridan College in 2010 with a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Illustration with honours and the Gold award for interpretive illustration.
As a web designer I favour simple usability over anything flashy and complex. Interjecting illustration is a big part of the work that I really enjoy doing, illustration enhances the depth of a website and the website adds purpose and life to the illustration.
As a project manager I value communication and planning. With proper communication clients can feel at ease knowing that there is always someone looking out for the best interest of their project, and with a plan / timeline in place projects hit milestones reliably.
Pre-pandemic I very much enjoyed travel with my husband Lui, part of what I enjoy so much about travel is the planning. I have a passion for video creation and live streaming. I also very much enjoy painting my nails, seems trivial but I find it creative and relaxing too.
